World Of Wanderlust Review

Hello everyone! Today’s post is the first of a new series in which I review all sorts of travel related books, from novels to picture books! Today I’ll be reviewing “World Of Wanderlust” by Brooke Saward.

You can purchase the book in Australia from Booktopia, Angus & Robertson, and Dymocks. To order it worldwide online, click here (free shipping!). I was gifted this book by my Nana, so thank you to her!

This book is written by Australian travel and lifestyle blogger Brooke Saward. She runs the amazing blog World Of Wanderlust, that features posts about her travels. Check out her blog here.

Definitely the most inspiring part of the book was the introduction. The introduction discusses Brooke’s journey as a blogger and how she grew to become a successful businesswoman in the blogging world.

Here is the table of contents for the book. Chapters include “The Basics”, “Places You Must Visit In Your Lifetime”, “See It With Your Own Eyes”, “Travel Tips”, “How To Escape” and “Wanderlust Directory”. I decided to share with you a little something about each chapter, so let us begin!

1. The Basics

2. Places You Must Visit In Your Lifetime

This was by far my favourite chapter in the book, so I couldn’t bring myself to choose a favourite page from it. The entire chapter is a guide to all of the world capitals, featuring the best neighborhoods, hotels, restaurants, and more in cities like Paris, London and New York.

3. See It With Your Own Eyes

This was another one of my favourite chapters in the book. As I mentioned earlier, I had a lot of fun reading through all of the places that Brooke suggests you should visit in your lifetime, and checking off things that I have seen or done. I also really enjoyed reading the “Landscapes” portion of the chapter, as sometimes when I’m travelling I tend to gravitate towards big cities and historical towns, totally forgetting about nature.

4. Travel Tips

As you can probably tell by the chapter’s title, this chapter is full of tips for travelers. If you need tips for learning a new language, a guide to airport style, or some ideas for a DIY showcasing your travels, this chapter has got it all! I chose to feature this particular page from the books because I think it suggests a great reason to travel; immersing yourself in the country’s culture and cuisine!

5. How To Escape

Yet another one of my favourite chapters was “How To Escape”. In this chapter, Brooke discusses easy yet effective ways to travel without actually traveling. This chapter was really inspiring to me, and it reminded me that you don’t have to travel thousands of miles to have a memorable experience.

6. Wanderlust Directory

The sixth and final chapter of World Of Wanderlust is the Wanderlust directory, which lists 10 of Brooke’s favourite hotels, restaurants, museums, and more. I found it really interesting to read through her favourites and compare them to mine!

Overall, World Of Wanderlust was definitely one of the best travel books I’ve ever read. In fact, it’s one of my favourite books of any genre! If you enjoy travelling, or even if you don’t, I would really recommend that you read this book because it will definitely inspire you to do so.

That brings us to the end of my post this week. Hope you enjoyed! What chapter from World Of Wanderlust would you most like to read? Leave a comment below letting me know 🙂

Thanks for reading.

    Great review, Hannah.
In some ways, your blog is like a travel book! You could even take your posts and compile them into a book someday! (And sign me up for an advanced copy!)

Thank you! That’s true – someday I hope to write a travel related book, but I’m pretty far away from that right now 😉

      Same for me.

I’m not sure if I am going anywhere in the next few weeks, but this summer my family is planning on visiting Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic!
